What's the difference between "assigned" vs. "summarized" when exporting txt files?

I’ve been exporting my data using readName_to_taxonPath option. Referring to my question, I’m unsure when “assigned” would be better than “summarized”, and vice versa.

Hi,

the summarized refers to this node and all of the nodes below it, whereas assigned, refers only to this node. So if you’d like to compare the abundance on the chosen taxonomic level the summarized option is better, however, if you want to investigate the reads that were placed in this node, use assigned.
