What is different between assigned count and summarized count?

I am a new user for MEGAN. I would like to ask you.
What is different between assigned count and summarized count in the MEGEN tree?

Assigned is number assigned to the given node,
summarized is the number assigned to the given node, or to any descendant node.

I have one more question. In the MEGAN tree, I set the tree to show bacterial classification at the species level. However, some bacteria show only family or genus level. I check them by click at the Inspector option. I can see those reads were matched to which bacteria.

My question is why MEGAN cannot show the result at the species level?

you should probably spend some time reading up on the LCA algorithm so that you understand in more detail what the program does…
