In my metagenome analyses some taxon ranks reveal quite high proportions of reads that have not been assigned to them due to LCA effects and got stuck one level above. Wouldn’t it be helpful to integrate an option that shows those “not-assigned-due-to-LCA-effects” reads in the bar charts for the affected taxon rank (as not assigned for the concerning taxon rank)? I think this might help to become directly aware of such cases and would also be of advantage for the presentation and discussion of the data.
