Blastx.out file "Not Assigned"

Hi, I am relatively new to MEGAN (version 6.22.2, built 10 Mar 2022) and when I uploaded my .blastx.out BLASTX 2.10.0+ files (I blasted against the NCBI viral database) I get “Not assigned” as my results for all barcodes. I am not sure what I need to change in the LCA params section. My blastx results are from minION long read sequencing using canu denovo assembly and medaka polishing. All of may barcodes are saying “not assigned.” Is there any tips on what I can do?- i had to crop 2 contigs out FYI - Thanks Katie

The data works fine, if you do three things:

  1. make sure that alignment lines contain tabs, not spaces (I assume that they do and that pasting into the forum changed them to spaces)
  2. when using the Import from Blast dialog, set Format to BlastTab and Mode to BlastX
  3. Load the mapping database using the Load MeganMapDB mapping file button on the taxonomy page.
